Gospel Guitar/Bass Workshops: The expression of rhythm through Guitar/Bass. Pupils will learn the importance of time and melody, Rudiments patterns, time signatures and playing in a traditional Gospel band scenario.

Introduction
Jam - In this term pupils will learn how to:
- Hold a bass/Guitar.
- Tune a Bass/guitar.
- Read the fret board.
- Fingering techniques.
B -
Time Keeping
- Crotchets minims Quavers.
- Pupils will learn how to say what they play and express through Bass/Guitar.
- Create short sentences using melodic phrases (using major scale).
- Learn to distinguish between Crotchets Minims and Quavers.
Making scales fun
- Pupils apply Scales to quavers (Pitter Patter).
- Understand the Different positions (fingering for scales).
- Applying scales to simple songs.
C -
4 on the floor
- Playing Groove/Chord to a ‘four on the floor’ pulse.
- Accenting in a common time groove.
- Exploring genres of 4 on the floor.
D -
Playing to tape
- Selected numbers of songs. Pupils will learn repertoire for the end of year concert.
- Pupils will play along to a backing track.
- Pupils will play common time bass licks/Guitar riff.
E -
Scales in songs/Number systems
- Using the vocabulary learnt in earlier terms Pupils will apply scales/chords while playing a song.
F -
Rehearsal/Performance
- Rehearse songs ready to perform in end of year concert.
